米高 奥里凯恩是一位芬兰生物多样性专家,目前在中国北京工作。他自2004
年5月开始担任“芬兰生物区系生物多样性国际咨询公司”在中国的首席代表。该公司专门从事自然资源的可持续利用、农村发展、以及如何平衡生物多样性保护与人类社区需要等研究。同时,他作为项目协调员供职于芬兰--图尔库大学,负责协调“欧盟委员会亚洲生态计划”
共筹基金项目,该项目旨在为中国的生态可持续性城市绿化发展策略提供帮助。杭州正是这个中国、芬兰、丹麦和爱沙尼亚之间的合作项目的专题研究区域。他早先服务于亚欧会议在芬兰图尔库的森林保护和可持续性管理合作组,作为该项在中国和芬兰二个地区间合作的代理协调员。在芬兰--图尔库大学,
他进行了景观和距离因素对芬兰西南群岛陆栖生物多样性的影响研究。
Mikko Ollikainen is a Finnish
biodiversity expert working in Beijing, China. Since May 2004 he has been Chief
Representative of the Finnish international consulting company Biota BD in
China. Biota BD is specialising on sustainable use of natural resources, rural
development, and reconciling biodiversity conservation and needs of human
communities. He is also currently working for the University of Turku, Finland,
as coordinator of an EC Asia Pro Eco co-funded project on developing policies
for ecologically sustainable urban greening in China. The case study area of
this cooperation project between China, Finland, Denmark and Estonia is
Hangzhou.
Previously he worked in ASEM (Asia
Europe Meeting) cooperation unit for forest conservation and sustainable
management in Turku as a deputy coordinator of the cooperation between the
leading countries in the two regions, China and Finland. In the University of
Turku, he did research on the effect of landscape and distance factors to
terrestrial biodiversity in the Southwest Archipelago Sea of
Finland.
