Boiling. Vigorous boiling for one minutewill
kill any disease-causing microorganismspresent
in water. The flat taste of boiled watercan
be improved by pouring it back and forthfrom
one container to another (to provideaeration),
by allowing it to stand for a few hours,or
by adding a small pinch of salt for each quartof
water boiled. Let the water cool to a safetemperature
before consuming.
