温泽尔博士是南非开普敦大学著名的水研究组的教授,负责生物污水处理gognyi 和模型的开发与应用。
温泽尔教授以其生物除磷的活性污泥模型的开发而享盛名。他与他的同事在20世纪80年代第一次成功地开发了生物除磷的成功力学模型。国际水协会的活性污泥2号模型(ASM2)就是建立在该模型的基础上的。增强型的生物聚磷菌的成功开发不仅为生物除磷技术在全球广泛的工程应用提供了坚实的理论支持,而且为生物学提供了一个崭新的研究领域。
温泽尔教授在各种学术期刊上发表了100多篇论文,其中削夺篇被广泛引用,是生物脱氮除磷领域的经典论文,他是国际水协2本科学与技术报告的gogntong 作者。目前的研究领域是:
1、外部硝化的生物脱氮除磷工艺的开发和应用;
2、生物与化学反应的人联合模型的开发、研究与应用;
3、酸性矿山废水的脱硫技术;
4、膜分离的生物脱氮技术除磷工艺的开发及应用
温泽尔博士在1991-2000年担任国际水协数学模型专家组至此那个委员,南部非洲水协会脱氮除磷专家组秘书。多次受邀国际性会议发表演讲,怒前市国际水协会会长,国际水协营养盐去除和磷回收专家组委员。
Mark C Wentzel, PhD, is Professor in the Water Research Group of the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Cape Town. His main area of research has been on the activated sludge system for wastewater treatment, with
research into biological nutrient removal (BNR) from wastewaters, filamentous organism bulking, simultaneous precipitation in BNR systems, system kinetic modelling and system design and optimisation. Current research topics include external nitrification in BNR systems, integrated multi-phase chemical, physical and biological processes kinetic modelling and acid mine drainage water treatment. He has published over 100 papers in refereed journals on these topics and has been co-author of 2 International Water Association (IWA) Scientific and Technical Reports. From 1991 to 1999 he served as a member of the IWA Task Group on Mathematical Modelling of Wastewater Treatment Systems and from 1991 to 2000 as Secretary of the Water Institute of Southern Africa (WISA) Nutrient Removal Technical Division. He has been invited to speak at numerous International Conferences, and as a guest lecturer in Germany, USA, Australia and Hong Kong. He has also been invited to serve as Associate Editor for Water Research. He is a senior fellow of WISA, a member of the IWA, and a member of the executive committee of the IWA Nutrient Removal and Recovery specialist group.
